FREE TO OBEY GOD WITHOUT FEAR

TESTAMENT OF GRACE GLOBAL ASSEMBLY (GRACE REVIVAL CENTRE)

LIFELINES DEVOTIONAL FOR WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 28,2026

TOPIC :FREE TO OBEY GOD WITHOUT FEAR

BIBLE VERSE

“Peter and the other apostles replied: ‘We must obey God rather than human beings!’”-Acts 5:29 (NIV)

MEDITATION

Fear of rejection, persecution, criticism, or losing people’s approval can tempt believers to compromise their convictions, but the freedom Christ gives enables us to obey God even when obedience comes at a cost. Daniel provides a powerful biblical example of this courage because, despite knowing that a royal decree prohibited prayer to anyone except the king, he continued to kneel before God three times a day, just as he had done previously (Daniel 6:6–10). Daniel refused to allow the threat of the lions’ den to silence his devotion, and although he was thrown into the den, God shut the lions’ mouths and preserved his life (Daniel 6:16–23). His experience teaches us that genuine faithfulness means choosing God’s will above the fear of human consequences, while trusting Him with outcomes beyond our control. God does not promise that every act of obedience will spare us hardship, but He gives us the courage, wisdom, and grace to remain faithful through difficult circumstances. When we know whom we serve and stand firmly upon His Word, we become free from the fear that would otherwise keep us from doing what is right.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, deliver me from every fear that hinders my obedience to You. Give me the courage to stand for Your truth, the wisdom to act faithfully, and the strength to remain steadfast when obedience becomes difficult. May my life always honour You above the approval of people. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
