FREE FROM GUILT AND SHAME

TESTAMENT OF GRACE GLOBAL ASSEMBLY (GRACE REVIVAL CENTRE)
LIFELINES DEVOTIONAL FOR THURSDAY OCTOBER 8,2026
TOPIC:FREE FROM GUILT AND SHAME
BIBLE VERSE
“Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, ‘I will confess my transgressions to the LORD.’ And you forgave the guilt of my sin.”-Psalm 32:5
MEDITATION
Guilt reminds us of what we have done wrong, while shame often tells us that our failures have made us unworthy of love, acceptance, or usefulness, but God offers freedom through confession, forgiveness, and restoration. Peter is a powerful example of this truth. After denying Jesus three times, Peter could have remained trapped in guilt and shame, yet the risen Christ deliberately sought him, restored him, and entrusted him with the responsibility of caring for His people (John 21:15–17). Jesus did not pretend that Peter’s failure had never happened, but He refused to let that failure become Peter’s final identity. Likewise, when we honestly confess our sins to God, we can receive His forgiveness and rise beyond our failures because His grace is greater than our guilt and His mercy is stronger than our shame.
PRAYER
Lord, I bring my guilt, failures, and shame before You. Thank You for Your mercy and forgiveness. Cleanse my heart, restore my confidence in You, and help me walk forward without allowing my past failures to define me. Amen.
