THE SEASON OF RECOVERY HAS COME
TESTAMENT OF GRACE GLOBAL ASSEMBLY (GRACE REVIVAL CENTRE)
LIFELINES DEVOTIONAL FOR SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 1,2026
TOPIC:THE SEASON OF RECOVERY HAS COME
BIBLE VERSE
“And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved… but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.”-1 Samuel 30:6
MEDITATION
There are seasons when life appears to take more than it gives, when years of labour seem wasted, relationships are shattered, opportunities disappear, and the things we cherish are suddenly taken away by circumstances beyond our control. This was David’s experience when he returned to Ziklag and discovered that the Amalekites had invaded the city, burnt it with fire and taken their wives and children captive. Although David was greatly distressed and even faced the threat of rejection from his own men, he refused to surrender to despair but strengthened himself in the Lord. His experience teaches us that the enemy’s attack does not have to become the final chapter of our story because God remains able to turn situations of devastating loss into testimonies of restoration. Another powerful example is Job, who, after losing his children, possessions and health, remained within the reach of God’s mercy, and the Lord eventually restored his fortunes and blessed his latter days more than his beginning (Job 42:10–12). Beloved, whatever you may have lost through the attacks of the enemy, unfortunate circumstances, wrong decisions or prolonged adversity, do not conclude that your story is over; strengthen yourself in the Lord, seek His direction and arise with faith, because the God who helped David recover everything is still able to restore, rebuild and give you a new beginning. Your season of recovery has come!
PRAYER
Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, strengthen me against every discouragement and arise on my behalf. Restore every good thing I have lost, redeem my wasted years, recover my opportunities and establish my family and destiny in Your goodness. I refuse to end in defeat; by Your grace, I shall pursue and recover all. Amen.
