VICTORY OVER SHAME

TESTAMENT OF GRACE GLOBAL ASSEMBLY (GRACE REVIVAL CENTRE)

LIFELINES DEVOTIONAL FOR FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 25,2026

TOPIC:VICTORY OVER SHAME

BIBLE VERSE
“For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.” — Isaiah 61:7 (KJV)

MEDITATION
Shame can make a person feel defined by failure, rejection, loss, or past mistakes, but God’s grace can replace shame with honour, restoration, and renewed joy. Joseph was stripped of his dignity, sold by his brothers, and imprisoned unjustly, yet God eventually lifted him from the prison to the palace and gave him a position of honour (Genesis 41:39–43). Peter also carried the painful memory of denying Jesus, but the risen Christ restored him publicly and entrusted him with responsibility among His people (John 21:15–17). Isaiah 61:7 declares that God can exchange shame for a double portion and confusion for rejoicing. This does not mean that every painful consequence disappears instantly, but it assures us that shame does not have to be the final chapter of a believer’s story. God can restore what was lost, rebuild what was broken, and give honour where there was once humiliation. Therefore, do not allow yesterday’s shame to determine tomorrow’s identity; receive God’s grace, walk in repentance and faith, and trust Him to turn your story into a testimony of His restoring power.

PRAYER
Father, thank You because shame does not have the final word over my life. Heal every wound of humiliation, restore what has been lost, and clothe me with honour and joy. Turn my painful experiences into testimonies of Your grace and restoration, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
