STRENGTHENING YOURSELF IN THE LORD

TESTAMENT OF GRACE GLOBAL ASSEMBLY (GRACE REVIVAL CENTRE)

LIFELINES DEVOTIONAL FOR MONDAY NOVEMBER 2,2026

TOPIC:STRENGTHENING YOURSELF IN THE LORD

BIBLE VERSE

“But David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.” -1 Samuel 30:6(KJV)

MEDITATION
One of the greatest challenges of a believer’s faith is learning how to remain spiritually strong when circumstances seem to be working against everything one believes in. When David returned to Ziklag and discovered that the Amalekites had burnt the city and taken their wives and children captive, he was deeply distressed, while his own men contemplated stoning him. Yet, instead of allowing the crisis to destroy his faith, David encouraged himself in the Lord his God. A powerful example of this same spiritual strength is found in Habakkuk, who, despite the frightening prospect of economic collapse, declared that even if the fig tree did not blossom, the fields produced no food and the stalls were empty, he would still rejoice in the Lord and find his strength in the God of his salvation (Habakkuk 3:17–19). These examples teach us that strengthening ourselves in the Lord does not mean pretending that problems do not exist; rather, it means refusing to allow our circumstances to become greater than our confidence in God’s faithfulness. When crises arise, return to God’s promises, remember His past faithfulness, maintain your prayer life and deliberately choose to trust Him even when you cannot see the way forward. Your circumstances may be distressing, but they do not have the power to determine your destiny when your strength is anchored in God.

PRAYER
Father, strengthen my heart whenever I face difficult seasons. Deliver me from discouragement, fear and despair, and renew my confidence in Your promises. Let my faith remain unshaken, and give me the strength to overcome every crisis. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
