FREE FROM THE FEAR OF LACK
TESTAMENT OF GRACE GLOBAL ASSEMBLY (GRACE REVIVAL CENTRE)
LIFELINES DEVOTIONAL FOR TUESDAY OCTOBER 20,2026
TOPIC :FREE FROM THE FEAR OF LACK
BIBLE VERSE
And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”-Philippians 4:19 (NIV)
MEDITATION
The fear of lack arises when we become so conscious of our limited resources that we begin to doubt God’s ability to provide for our needs, but His Word calls us to trust His faithfulness even when our circumstances appear uncertain. The widow of Zarephath provides a powerful example of this truth; during a severe famine, she had only a handful of flour and a little oil, enough to prepare what she believed would be the final meal for herself and her son. Yet, when she obeyed God’s instruction through the prophet Elijah, the flour and oil did not run out throughout the period of famine (1 Kings 17:8–16). Her experience demonstrates that God can sustain His people even in seasons of scarcity, although His provision may come through unexpected means and requires us to act in faith and wisdom. As believers, we must refuse to let fear dictate our decisions, learn to manage our resources responsibly, and trust God to supply our needs according to His riches in glory through Christ Jesus.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, deliver me from the fear of lack and teach me to trust Your faithful provision. Give me wisdom to manage what I have, courage to obey Your Word, and peace in every season of uncertainty. Let my heart rest in Your promise to meet my needs through Christ Jesus. Amen.
