FREE FROM SPIRITUAL BONDAGE

TESTAMENT OF GRACE GLOBAL ASSEMBLY (GRACE REVIVAL CENTRE)

LIFELINES DEVOTIONAL FOR SUNDAY, OCTOBER 18,2026

TOPIC:FREE FROM SPIRITUAL BONDAGE

BIBLE VERSE
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free.”-Luke 4:18 (NIV)

MEDITATION
Spiritual bondage can keep people trapped in destructive patterns, persistent fear, oppressive influences, and practices that hinder their relationship with God, but Jesus came to proclaim liberty and bring deliverance to those who are bound. A powerful biblical example is the man possessed by a legion of demons in the region of the Gerasenes, who lived among tombs, could not be restrained by chains, and suffered terribly until he encountered Jesus. Christ commanded the unclean spirits to leave him, and afterward the man was found sitting at Jesus’ feet, dressed and in his right mind (Luke 8:26–39). His transformation demonstrates the authority of Jesus over spiritual oppression and His power to restore human dignity and peace. In the same way, believers can find freedom through Christ by turning to Him in faith, rejecting practices that contradict His Word, embracing the truth of Scripture, and seeking prayerful support from mature Christian leaders when necessary. No bondage is beyond the authority of Christ, and His desire is to lead us into a life of spiritual freedom and fellowship with God.

PRAYER
Lord Jesus, thank You for coming to set the oppressed free. Break every chain that hinders my walk with You, deliver me from every form of spiritual bondage, and fill my heart with Your truth, peace, and power. Help me to walk daily in the freedom You have given me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
