BIBLE VERSE
“To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, ‘If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.’ They answered him, ‘We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?’ Jesus replied, ‘Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.’”-John 8:31–36
MEDITATION
The freedom Christ gives is not merely freedom from external circumstances but liberation from the power of sin, condemnation, fear, and every form of spiritual bondage that once controlled our lives. A powerful example is the apostle Paul, who once persecuted the church with fierce determination, but after encountering Christ, he became a devoted servant and messenger of the Gospel. His past no longer determined his future because Christ gave him a new identity and a new purpose. In the same way, believers are not prisoners of who they used to be; in Christ, they have been forgiven, transformed, and given the power to walk in a newness of life.
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, thank You for the freedom You have purchased for me. Help me to reject every form of bondage and continually walk in the liberty, identity, and purpose You have given me. Let Your truth govern my thoughts, choices, and actions, and may I never return to the chains from which You have set me free. Amen.
