FREE TO SERVE OTHERS
TESTAMENT OF GRACE GLOBAL ASSEMBLY (GRACE REVIVAL CENTRE)
LIFELINES DEVOTIONAL FOR THURSDAY OCTOBER 29,2026
TOPIC:FREE TO SERVE OTHERS
BIBLE VERSE
“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”-Galatians 5:1 (NIV)
MEDITATION
The freedom we receive through Jesus Christ is not merely an opportunity to live for ourselves but a divine calling to serve others in love. Christ frees us from the bondage of sin, selfishness, and the constant pursuit of personal interests so that we can become instruments of His grace in a needy world. Jesus Himself demonstrated this truth when He washed His disciples’ feet, performing a task normally assigned to servants and teaching His followers that greatness in God’s kingdom is expressed through humble service (John 13:12–17). Although He was their Lord and Master, He willingly stooped to serve them, showing that true freedom does not make us proud or self-centred but enables us to put others first. Likewise, God calls us to use our time, gifts, resources, and opportunities to encourage the discouraged, care for the vulnerable, support the needy, and strengthen fellow believers. When we understand the freedom Christ has given us, we no longer ask only what others can do for us but also how we can become a blessing to them. True freedom is not the freedom to live selfishly but the freedom to love and serve willingly.
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, thank You for setting me free and giving my life a new purpose. Deliver me from selfishness and teach me to serve others with humility, compassion, and love. Help me to use my gifts and resources to bless others and glorify Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
